Family sessions

I had the pleasure of capturing Rachel, Josh and their gorgeous girls for a family session in November 2021. I always feel that the images have so much more soul when they are taken in your home. Every part of the image will evoke a memory in years to come, not just the people who are in the image but the background, the interior details of your homes, the sofa you’re sat on and the personal items in the images. These all contribute to who you are as a family.

I absolutely love working with little ones and I embrace the unpredictability of them. I have a daughter myself and understand that toddlers will only do what they want to do and actually that’s where my style of photography came from, I go into more detail about this on the ‘About me’ section of my website. I really encourage kids to just be themselves, bring toys in, eat snacks and just generally be comfortable and to go about their day as if I’m just a visitor.

We changed location towards the end of the shoot and had a wander to the local park to get some outdoor images and luckily the weather allowed it. Changing location often keeps little ones interested and entertained and gives more variety in your gallery.
